What is content management?
Content management systems (CMS) allow end users to update the content on their website or internet application using a secure website. A broader definition allows the management of digital content by collaborators that include administrators, consumers and guests of the digital application. For this blog piece we will be focused purely on website content management.
One of the most popular content management systems is Wordpress. Originally released in 2003 as a blogging tool, Wordpress was known as b2 or cafelog and was written in PHP for MySQL. A blog by Rahul Vaghasia in June 2015, Beginner’s Guide to Starting a WordPress Blog, claims that of the top 10 million websites, almost one quarter were using Wordpress.
One of the strengths of Wordpress is the collaborative effort of developers and creative minds worldwide. A vast collection of plug-ins and design themes are now available, many of which are free. Whilst some technical expertise is preferred, it is relatively easy to get up and running with a new Wordpress website.
Code Global manage several Wordpress applications, ranging from brochure style websites to full e-commerce applications.
Building a bespoke CMS
With almost twenty years experience of building websites, we know that no single project is the same. Many clients are not fully aware of the capabilities of their website and have possibly had a poor experience before joining us. We make our position clear from the outset; to work with the client to develop a website that fulfils expectations, produces results and encourages growth.
As a result we often build a bespoke content management system to accommodate the client's own needs.
Our bespoke CMS is housed on a secure website and we tailor everything to the individual client. The content and order management is fully flexible so that you can handle all of your digital output from one secure location.
The entire application is built from scratch and apart from a few commonly used jQuery libraries, the whole system is developed by Code Global.
Code Global work with clients in London, Northampton and across the United Kingdom.
Our work covers creative and technical web design, email marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO) and pay per click advertising (PPC). We build our client relationships on a win-win basis and are always looking to exceed expectations.
